After leaving her job as a store manager in Belgium, Kristel moved to Asia, where she worked as a tour guide and diving instructor for two years. She fell in love with Koh Chang and decided to open BB Divers. It started as a one-person business, but as the island and diving became more popular, the dive school quickly became a successful 5-star IDC center. Kristel has been teaching divers for over 20 years and now handles most of the planning and organization. In addition to opening the second branch at BB Koh Kood, she also runs the eco-resort Cliff Cottage in Bang Bao.

BB Divers, a PADI Five Star IDC center, is a Belgian diving school that works with an international team of divers. Since 2003 on Koh Chang and since 2011 on Koh Kood, BB Divers holds the distinction of being the oldest dive center on Koh Chang. Founded by Kristel, who fell in love with the beauty of the island during one of her trips, she decided to leave her home country and move to Koh Chang. She turned her passion for diving and travel into a thriving business, and BB Divers has become synonymous with professionalism and a vibrant diving community.

As the only Five Star IDC center in the area, BB Divers offers training for everyone, from beginner divers to professional diving instructors. Operating year-round with daily trips, the dive center welcomes everyone for fun dives, snorkeling trips, PADI dive courses, or freediving courses. The success of BB Divers lies in its unique approach, seeing divers and snorkelers as visiting friends while ensuring a professional and enjoyable experience. In 2011, BB Divers expanded its horizons by opening a branch on Koh Kood. Recognizing Koh Kood as the new tropical escape in Thailand, this move allowed BB Divers to offer diving, PADI courses, freediving, and snorkeling amidst the pristine reefs of Koh Kood and the Koh Rang National Marine Park. Departing from Siam Beach, managed by Manu since the opening of the branch, ensures that both divers and snorkelers have a great day.

In 2016, BB Divers introduced freediving training, aimed at those who prefer exploring the underwater world on a single breath. Alongside scuba diving, both Koh Chang and Koh Kood now offer freediving courses, trips, and training up to the level of Master Freediver or instructor. As the only PADI freediving center on both islands, BB Divers offers daily training and freediving trips, positioning itself as a must-visit destination for enthusiasts seeking a freediving experience. BB Philosophy

As divers, we appreciate nature and recognize our responsibility to preserve our natural habitat. While tourism brings joy, it also presents threats to coral reefs and marine life. At BB Divers, we actively work to change harmful practices such as walking on coral, feeding fish, and improper waste disposal. We strive to be conscious and responsible, both within our community and by educating others.

All BB instructors and divemasters are PADI certified and teach to the highest standards. Coming from different corners of the world, they bring an international touch to our dive courses, ensuring you can learn in your preferred language. Passion for diving is a common thread among our team. For us, teaching others to dive is more than just a job—it’s a commitment from the heart.

Many of our BB-ers are passionate travelers who started their dive training with BB Divers and discovered their place in Koh Chang. A significant number of them are local islanders who have climbed the PADI ladder, achieving divemaster or instructor status. Every year, more familiar faces return to visit or take a break from routine life, showing the enchanting charm of Koh Chang.
