The Scuba Carolina Team

Carolina (Instructor)PADI instructora buceo santa marta
Originally from Medellin, Colombia, Carolina started scuba diving in Panama in 2015.After a few years of sailing between Panama and Colombia, she decided to pursue scuba diving as a career. Carolina quickly fell in love with sharing the experience of the underwater world. She is a born teacher, patient and meticulous with her students and clients. She believes that the best environment for dive instruction is a personalised experience working directly with students as individuals or in small manageable groups. Some of her favourite dives include: Coiba, Panama, Roatan, St. Maarten and Mexico.

Jeff (Assistant)jeff at scuba carolina curso de open water
Originally from Florida, Jeff started diving at the age of 12. Addicted to diving from an early age, he logged over 500 dives by the time he was 18. After leaving Florida, Jeff cruised the Caribbean and eventually made his way to Panama. For a time, he managed charter trips between Panama and Colombia, taking travellers to the islands of San Blas. Eventually, Jeff and Carolina decided to make Santa Marta their home where they help visitors and locals discover and explore the reefs around Santa Marta and the Tayrona Park.

Yeimis Cantillo (Organizadora del curso)buzo santa marta scuba carolina
Originally from Santa Marta, Yeimis started diving at the beginning of the year 2022, since then she has fallen in love with the wonders of the sea, she believes it is important that we all know the care; the beauty of our oceans and what we can do to live incredible experiences, exploring coral reefs and wonderful marine species, promoting their conservation.

Isabel Barrios (Organizadora del curso)
Originally from Cúcuta, Colombia. As a teacher of children, she has always instilled respect and love for the sea and nature. Now being a resident of Santa Marta and with the sea closer to home, my fears of it are broken at the time of making my first diving experience, since then the vision, respect, love and knowledge towards the sea, has changed my perspective of life, of course for the better.

Yuli Serranosnorkeling guide and marine biologist
Yuli was born in Bogota, Colombia and her career as a marine biologist allowed her to dive for 2 years. Diving has allowed her to discover new marine ecosystems and in particular she studies sea lions as her favourite species 🦭 of hers. Yuli leads guided snorkelling tours and also provides support in the office during the weekends.

Morena & Mia (Los Jefes)buzos dog divers
Morena is a Belgian Shepherd Malinois and Mia is a Labrador Retriever. Morena's favourite pastime is making people think she is going to bite them. While Mia prefers to play with humans in a gentler way assuming they have food or a ball to throw. They both love the ocean almost as much as they love mangoes, watermelons and carrots.

5. Pre-dive check

Before diving, check with your buddy: BCD, weights, straps, air, and final OK. This way, you can be sure you are ready to enter the water.
