Description
The wrecks and reefs route of the northern Red Sea runs through the waters near Hurghada, Egypt, offering a balance of famous wrecks and vibrant reef dives. The itinerary typically includes the SS Thistlegorm, a British cargo ship that sank in 1941, along with the four wrecks of Abu Nuhas - Ghiannis D, Carnatic, Chrisoula K, and Kimon M - as well as the Ras Mohamed Marine Park with its Shark and Yolanda reefs. The route also features shallow and densely populated reefs like Gota Abu Ramada, known as 'The Aquarium', along with Ras Disha, Sha'ab El Erg - famous for its dolphins - and Siyul Kebir Island, a prime spot for macro photography. With short navigations and varied dive sites, this route is accessible for divers of different levels, though diving the Thistlegorm requires a minimum level of experience.
