Master Liveaboards Blue Horizon
Rocky, Zabargad & St. John's — Blue Horizon (Red Sea, Egypt)
Description
The route Rocky, Zabargad & St. John's takes you through the most southern reefs of the Egyptian Red Sea, a remote and less-frequented area accessible only by liveaboard. The itinerary combines vertical walls that drop to great depths, well-preserved hard coral formations, and the St. John's reef system, which is characterized by tunnels, caves, and corridors where filtered light creates stunning underwater environments sought after by photographers, particularly at locations like Cave Reef.
The wildlife varies depending on the spot: the regular currents attract pelagics at Elphinstone, where grey sharks and Napoleon fish are common, and during certain seasons, you may encounter hammerheads and oceanic whitetips, while Fury Shoals offers easier dives with dolphins and two small wrecks.
Due to its exposed nature and strong currents, this route is aimed at experienced divers looking for reefs, walls, and pelagic life in open waters.
