We are a group of nature and sea lovers who wish to share our passion with whoever joins us. Our aim is to provide unparalleled wildlife experiences to tourists, researchers and filmmakers on a purpose built and improved boat.
Our fleet
El kiki
Built in 1996 and completely refitted between 2021 and 2023 to serve as an expedition vessel, the Kiki is made for Costa Rican waters. She is a 68-foot Montefino motor yacht with full galley, 4 bathrooms and showers, and capacity to comfortably accommodate 9 guests plus crew. We have additional food and fuel storage and a full service dive platform with air compressors and nitrox, making the Kiki the perfect boat for anything from luxurious day trips to long distance expeditions.
La Valencia
The Valencia, a 25-foot sport boat with twin 150 HP Yamaha engines, is a Kiki exclusive dinghy and a capable fishing boat in its own right. It is perfect for day trips from Puntarenas. It can provide easy manoeuvrability in hard to reach destinations along with Kiki and can take up to 10 guests to the beaches, dive sites and surf spots in the Gulf of Nicoya.
Capitán José Mora
José Mora has been sailing the waters of Costa Rica and the world for almost 30 years. He is a licensed international yacht captain and has led diving, research and tourism expeditions throughout his career. He lives in Puntarenas with his family and is responsible for everything related to Kiki and Valencia, keeping both boats in top condition and serving as captain on our trips.

Patrick Dykstra
Patrick is one of the most sought-after cameramen in the wildlife film industry. On any given day, Patrick can be found just about anywhere there is blue water. He won a BAFTA for his film work on BBC's Blue Planet 2 and has since filmed wildlife programmes for Netflix, National Geographic, AppleTV+, Discovery, BBC and others. He recently completed presenting and filming ’ Chasing Ocean Giants ’ (Discovery Channel), which has been broadcast in over 150 countries. The eight-part series follows Patrick's journey around the world to help some of the world's leading scientists uncover the mysteries of the ocean. During production, the team filmed numerous world premieres and provided a valuable platform for the scientists they worked with. In August 2023, ‘Patrick and the Whale’, a moving story of the Whale, will be released. a touching story of Patrick's friendship with a sperm whale and directed by award-winning director Mark Fletcher, premiered to critical acclaim worldwide. Patrick has visited 102 countries and filmed in some of the most hostile environments, including the tribal areas of Yemen, diving under Antarctic ice and on top of erupting volcanoes in the Congo. He is a certified rebreather diver, wingsuit skydiver, hang glider and paraglider pilot and is passionate about wildlife conservation. When not travelling, Patrick is at home in Bristol, UK, with his two dogs.
Josh Barton
Josh is an avid underwater photographer and expedition leader based in Bangalore, India. Joshua has been featured in dozens of newspapers and magazines over the years, including National Geographic, International Wildlife, Better Photography, The Washington Post and others. Joshua enthusiastically explores the coasts and islands of the world in search of new places and great encounters with marine life. By taking the time to explore new places, gathering information from locals, scientists and like-minded adventurers, he has developed a knowledge base of diverse locations and the best times and ways to visit them for the best encounters. From central Madagascar to northern Sumatra, southern Ethiopia to northeastern India, Joshua has sought out and found exceptional locations for pristine wildlife encounters and photography. In 2016, Joshua's group with Picture Adventure were the first non-professionals to photograph transient killer whales underwater in Sri Lanka, and one of the first worldwide to do so. As an experienced photographer, Joshua works with his expedition clients to guide them in using the right equipment, the right settings and finding the right moments and perspectives to get the shots his clients come from all over the world to capture.

Superpods of Dolphins
Unique trips to witness one of Mother Nature's greatest events. We will follow the superpod of spinner dolphins in Costa Rica, which can number in the tens of thousands, and observe this magnificent gathering that has appeared in numerous wildlife documentaries. This is an opportunity to experience firsthand the scale and power of life in the ocean. In addition to the dolphins, we will look for bait balls and, if we're lucky, have the chance to swim among the yellowfin tuna and mobula rays as they hunt their prey. This is a true adventure.
Coco Island
Travel 300 miles off the coast to Isla del Coco for one of the best big animal diving experiences in the world. Enjoy days of constant encounters with sharks (hammerhead sharks, silky sharks, Galápagos sharks, white tip reef sharks, black tip sharks, tiger sharks, whale sharks, silver tip sharks, and more), dolphins, manta rays, and schools of fish that fill your entire view. Diving
Come on a short trip aboard the Valencia to some of the local dive sites in the Gulf of Nicoya, or head further offshore on the Kiki to some of Costa Rica's most iconic dive sites such as Cabo Blanco, Isla del Caño, and more.
Coastal Adventures
Enjoy a day (or more) on the Kiki exploring part of Costa Rica's Pacific coast. From Corcovado to Santa Rosa and all the places in between, the Kiki can take you there. You can spend the day surfing, snorkeling, hiking, or simply relaxing on the boat or on the beach. The Kiki can take you to the most pristine places in Costa Rica: beaches where the jungle meets the sea, and the only other visitors to the sand are jaguars and sea turtles.

The sea.
1. Never hold your breath
Breathe deeply and slowly underwater. In addition to avoiding lung overexpansion issues, you will save air during your dive.
2. Always dive with a buddy
Always dive with a partner and make sure you stay close at all times.
3. Respect your limits
Always dive within the limits of your training. Train yourself before taking on new challenges.
4. Buoyancy
By maintaining good buoyancy control, you will increase your level of control, which will undoubtedly contribute to safer diving.
5. Pre-dive check
Before diving, check with your buddy: BCD, weights, straps, air, and final OK. This way, you can be sure you are ready to enter the water.
6. Keep learning
The more you practice your diving skills, the safer you will feel underwater. In courses like Rescue Diver, you can also learn rescue maneuvers to increase group safety.
