What is the Open Water Course?
If you’ve ever been curious about the underwater world and dreamt of discovering new adventures, this is where it all begins.
The Open Water Diver course is the most popular diving course in the world, introducing millions to the diving lifestyle. During this course, you’ll complete at least five confined water dives and four open water dives under the supervision of your instructor.
You’ll also learn about scuba gear specific to your local diving environment, how to plan and execute dives, and how to prevent and manage potential challenges.

What does the Open Water Course involve?
The Open Water Diver course has three main phases:
Knowledge Development (online, self-study, or in-class) to understand the basic principles of scuba diving.
Confined Water Dives to learn and practice fundamental diving techniques.
Open Water Dives to refine your skills and explore the underwater world!
The course duration is three to four days, depending on each student’s needs.
Once certified, Open Water Divers are qualified to dive independently with a buddy anywhere in the world.
To enroll in the Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver course, you must:
Be at least 10 years old (eLearning requires a minimum age of 13 due to international internet laws).
