Dry Suit Specialty Course

Do you want to stay warm on a dive? Then dive dry - yes! Unlike a wetsuit, a drysuit insulates you from the water outside and keeps you warm! Even in surprisingly cold water drysuits allow you to dive more challenging sites, while extending your dive season.

When you wear the right cold water diving apparel, you can battle the elements and benefit from the generally better visibility that the winter months offer - especially in inland dive sites such as dams, lakes, sinkholes, caverns, etc. As a drysuit diver, you are equipped to dive some of the world's amazing dive sites in the coldest regions of the world where a drysuit is best enjoyed even in their warmest months.

What will you learn?

Acquire the knowledge and skills to safely dress, dive, remove and store your drysuit.

Learn about the different types of suits so that you can make an informed decision if you decide to buy a drysuit.

The course consists of 3 hours of theory in our classroom. There will also be a practical session in the swimming pool of about 2 hours, where you will do accident drills with a drysuit, in a safe environment and under the supervision of a qualified instructor who will show you how to solve a buoyancy problem due to poor handling of the drysuit. Afterwards, we will do a dry suit dive in the Bolarque Reservoir, a reservoir very close to Madrid with the ideal depth conditions for you to try the sensation of diving in deep, cold water with your dry suit.

El traje seco te permite ampliar tu temporada de buceo, ya que cuando empiezan los primeros días fríos del final del otoño o comienzo del invierno, la gente cuelga su traje húmedo o semiseco y se olvida del buceo hasta la primavera siguiente, perdiéndose la estación invernal en el mediterráneo, donde es posible ver animales grandes más cerca de la costa (delfines, peces luna, grandes atunes, etc.) así como el ciclo de la muerte de los tallos de la posidonia en su regeneración para preparar su florecimiento en primavera.

Si te planteas bucear en hielo o aguas muy frías, no puedes realizarlo si no es con traje seco.

Details:

              The course consists of a theory part and 2 dives in the sea with dry suit. It can be done in one day, and as with every course, you will receive your student manual, do the theory sessions, dives and get your drysuit certification.
