A MARINE BIOSPHERE RESERVE TO SHARE
In the heart of the ocean, where time seems to stand still, are the marine reserves of Lanzarote, underwater sanctuaries where nature manifests itself in its most spectacular and unspoiled form. Here, the act of diving is transformed from a simple immersion to a deep conversation with the vast sea, carried out with the utmost respect and in intimate communion with the environment.
We enter these sacred waters in small groups, silent guardians of a fragile ecosystem that reveals, to those who observe attentively, species and wonders that seem to belong to another world. This environment, abundantly alive and of an almost magical biodiversity, offers a haven not only for marine life, but also for the soul of the experienced diver, thirsty for discoveries that feed his passion and respect for the sea.
For novices, there is no better introduction to the majestic underwater world than these clear and lively waters, a setting that invites not only to learn but to connect deeply with marine nature.
Lanzarote is home to four dive areas, each a universe unto itself: the enigmatic Chinijo Archipelago, the sculptural Northeast Coast, the serene Playa Blanca and the mysterious Puerto del Cármen. These places are not simply destinations; they are living stories, pulsating adventures, and profound lessons about the fragility and strength of our natural world.
Come dive into the poetry of the ocean, where every movement is a dance with the waves, every bubble is a song of the deep, and every moment spent beneath the surface is a pact of respect and admiration with the vast blue. In our marine reserves, every dive is a return home, to the open and welcoming arms of the sea. 🌊🐢🐠✨
Some of the dives we offer from Pura Vida:
Charco del Palo: A Contrast between Volcano and Sand Experience the unique dive at Charco del Palo, where the volcanic landscape mixes with white sands. This site is perfect for rough sea days, offering a varied ecosystem in a small space. With colorful algae at the top and a blanquizal created by diadema sea urchins below 10m, this area also features cliffs and caves formed by the volcanic rock. For advanced divers, the black coral forests below 40-50 m are a must-see spectacle.

Veril de Costa Teguise: The Secret of Local Diving The great wall of Costa Teguise is a magnet for marine life. In its two miles of extension, you will find a variety of species, from orange corals to dogfish. Appreciated by local divers, this dive offers a fascinating panorama of marine life, ideal to be explored from the shore or by boat.
Papagayo: Snorkeling Paradise With turquoise waters and golden sand, Papagayo is the perfect place for snorkeling. The marine life here is vibrant, offering a fascinating spectacle for divers of all levels. Explore this idyllic scenery and discover the diversity of marine life, from green sea bream to spider crabs.

Flamingo Beach: Home to Large Shoals of Fish This dive is distinguished by the huge tubes of an underwater outfall, which attract a great diversity of marine life. It is an ideal area for both beginners and experienced divers, where marine life abounds on the white sandy bottom.

El Muellito and the Beach: A Dive for Everyone The vicinity of El Muellito and Playa Chica are perfect for divers of all levels. From snorkeling to night diving, this area offers a rich biodiversity, with schools of fish, colorful sea slugs and an active night life on the sand.

La Catedral: La Mansión del Mero Félix La Catedral is one of the most popular dives in Lanzarote. Here, you can encounter the famous Felix Grouper and explore a variety of habitats, from vertical walls to sandbanks and caves.
Blue Hole: A Window to the Deep The Blue Hole is an exciting dive that connects a shallow sandy area with the reef wall. It is an ideal site to observe a wide range of marine life, from seahorses to pelagics.

Wrecks of Puerto del Carmen: A Journey to a Submerged Port The Wrecks of Puerto del Carmen offer a unique experience for wreck enthusiasts. This dive allows you to explore the remains of up to six submerged ships, each telling its own story beneath the waves. The shallower ones, surprisingly well preserved, present a fascinating scene, with one of the ships peeking out from the rocks of the breakwater. This underwater landscape, so different from any other in Lanzarote, is especially attractive for divers visiting the island for the first time. We recommend starting the dive at the deepest wrecks, such as the one that preserves its large propeller at 38 meters deep, and finish in the shallower ones. Among the wrecks, you will find marine life typical of dark environments, and don't forget to observe the surrounding sand, where rays, manta rays and angel sharks are often spotted.
