CHARCO DEL PALO

This dive is a good option when the sea is rough from the southwest. It is notable for its rocky volcanic landscape with white sand.

Here there is an excellent representation of many of the ecosystems of the Canary Islands in a very small space.

Above, the rocky bottom is covered by a colourful blanket of algae, below 10 metres the rock forms cliffs and caves before disappearing into the sandbanks.

Below 40-50 m, black coral forests grow, accessible only to trained divers.

THE ELEVATOR

This dive is unique on the island. Nature once again creates impossible shapes, a volcanic tube in which we can dive as if it were a lift. It is a cave in which the light creates magical effects thanks to the multitude of skylights that run through it. In addition to the lift, the surrounding area is also worth exploring for its volcanic landscape with fissures, tunnels and large arches.

THE CANYON

Gigantic walls border this canyon, like a corridor that we cross in the middle of the ocean surrounded by impossibly shaped rocks, caves, arches, white sand banks, etc. The normally good visibility and the way the light is reflected make El Cañón, in Mala, a unique dive in Lanzarote.

MUSEO DEL ATLÁNTICO

The Museo Atlántico is the first underwater art museum in Europe and the Atlantic Ocean. It is located within the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve of Lanzarote and is accessible to divers and snorkellers. The monumental project took more than three years to plan and build, and consists of more than 300 life-size casts placed on a previously barren 50 m x 50 m area of seabed, only 14 metres deep.

PLAYA FLAMINGO

This is one of our favourite dives due to the abundance of marine life, probably the largest in Lanzarote. After a platform, at a depth of about 3 metres, a rocky wall descends where we find large shoals of fish, including sardines, bream, barracudas, salema, amberjacks and tuna. Among the sandy and rocky bottoms we find giant anemones, angel sharks, rays, eagle rays and nudibranchs.

LAS COLORADAS

In the middle of a sandbank, a wall emerges that is home to an infinity of marine life: mongrels, abadis, jacks, moray eels, spiny dogfish, giant anemones, cleaner shrimps, whelks, octopus, etc. It is a pleasure to explore the environment and the cavities on this dive in Playa Blanca.

PUNTA BERRUGO

This dive is like going in search of hidden treasure. The dive takes place on the edge between the sand and the rock, following the small flap that forms. The landscape takes on artistic shapes, creating small spaces where it is irresistible to look around in search of inhabitants. It is also possible to recognise the scarce remains of an ancient wreck that the sea has almost disintegrated. It is an easy, fun and varied dive, we can enjoy varied environments such as caves, small reefs and large sandbanks.

BLUE HOLE

The most common way to do this dive is from land. On entering the stairs of the Muellito de Playa Chica, you pass through the shallow area, which is always full of shoals of fish. From there you descend through the large submerged dunes, across the eelgrass field, to the entrance of the Blue Hole, a small tunnel a short distance away and very fascinating at the entrance to the sand and out to the open sea. In the real there are several interesting caves and cavities to look for life, from swarms of narwhal shrimps to small orange corals and a great diversity of fish. It is also an ideal place to observe pelagic species, so keep your eyes on the blue.

THE CATHEDRAL

Another of the island's most famous dives is La Catedral, a huge cave we can enter, similar to the vault of a church, flanked by rock walls several metres high where all kinds of creatures live. Including giant groupers.

RICHIE'S PLACE

Here we find huge walls that fall into the abyss, impossibly shaped rocks, caves, arches... all framed by white sandy seabeds and surrounded by hundreds of fish and marine life. It is a very varied dive with different possibilities. We can find orange coral and a cave with narwhal shrimps.

WAIKIKI

This is a very special dive. The exotic name Waikiki already transports us to tropical areas. The white sandy bottom reflects the sunlight, creating that characteristic effect of the Caribbean or Southeast Asia. Underwater, a few metres down, we find large populations of fish, but it is worth the effort to continue down to the shore.

SHRIMP'S CAVE

Named after the swarms of narwhal shrimps (popularly called crayfish), the large groupers await the light of our torches to begin the feast. This is a dive for experienced divers as it is more than 40 metres deep.cueva de las gambas lanzarote

QUIQUERE'S WRECKS

These three wooden fishing boats, built in the last century with the firm purpose of taking on the ocean to catch fish, paradoxically ended their days at the bottom of the sea and are now home to those who were once their prey. The two lower boats are practically finished. The deeper one, on the other hand, has a ghostly appearance with the frames protruding from the keel like the ribs of a spine.

HARBOUR'S WRECKS

A recommended dive for wreck lovers. In a single dive you can visit the remains of up to six wrecks. Interestingly, the shallowest ones are the best preserved and one of them even protrudes below the rocks of the jetty breakwater, offering an unusual view. The wrecks offer a completely different landscape to any other dive on the island and is a popular dive for divers visiting Lanzarote for the first time.
