The Advanced Open Water Diver course is the next level after completing the Open Water Diver. In this course, you will improve your knowledge about the world of diving, such as safety, finning, buoyancy, time control, etc. It will also allow you to dive to a maximum depth of 30 meters!

The Advanced Open Water is considered the most fun diving course of all, as you will complete different adventure specialties, acquiring more knowledge about the different branches of scuba diving.

What does the Advanced Open Water course consist of?

This course is divided into 2 parts.

On one hand, the theoretical part can be done online (depending on the center) or in person at the center to learn, among other things, the practical aspects and physiological effects of deep diving, time management, planning, the use of the dive computer, and guidelines for different situations.

The practical part of the Advanced Open Water diving course consists of a total of 5 adventure dives in the sea (specialties).

Of these 5 specialties, 2 are mandatory, being the pillars of advanced diving. They are the following:

• Deep Diving Specialty: You will perform an open water dive to a depth of 30 meters (21 meters if you are between 12 and 14 years old), with their respective practical exercises.

• Underwater Navigation Specialty: You will perform a dive where you will learn to use the compass and orient yourself underwater, plotting courses, and controlling buoyancy.

The remaining 3 specialties of the Advanced Open Water diving course will be freely chosen. The range is very wide, and the offer of these specialties will depend on the center where they are going to be carried out. The most popular among divers are:

• Nitrox

• Buoyancy

• Nigth Diver

During the specialties, the theoretical concepts will be reinforced, and the knowledge of the chosen adventure dives will be reviewed.

The Advanced Open Water course lasts approximately 3 days. You can consult us to adapt the course to your needs and to tell us which specialties you want to do.

• What do I have to bring to do the Advanced Open Water course?

We recommend you bring a swimsuit and towel, and if you tend to get seasick when traveling by car or boat, we also recommend you take some motion sickness pills.

• What is the maximum depth we will go to?

The maximum depth in the Advanced Open Water course is 30 meters.
