The PADI Rescue Diver Course takes you beyond self-awareness and teaches you how to take care of your dive buddy and others around you. Building on the skills from your Open Water and Advanced Open Water courses, this course focuses on preventing and managing dive emergencies, whether minor or major.

What You’ll Learn

In the Rescue Diver course, you will develop the knowledge and confidence needed to handle emergency situations. You’ll learn how to prevent dive accidents, assist distressed divers, perform rescue techniques, and manage both conscious and unconscious victims. The course includes theory and practical open water training with "live" rescue scenarios where you’ll apply everything you’ve learned.

Training and Scenarios

The course is divided into two parts:

1. Knowledge Development: Learn about diver stress, self-rescue techniques, emergency management, and rescue procedures.

2. Open Water Training: Practice your skills through drills and live scenarios. You will be tested with real-life situations, such as rescuing a missing diver or assisting someone in distress, both underwater and on the surface.

Prerequisites

To enroll in the PADI Rescue Diver Course, you must:

• Be at least 15 years old

• Be a certified Advanced Open Water Diver

• Hold a current Emergency First Response (EFR) certification or equivalent.
