Diving in Raa Atoll

Raa Atoll or North Maalhosmadulu Atoll is one of the northernmost and most visited atolls in the Maldives. It is separated from Baa Atoll by the 5 km wide Hani Kandu Channel or Hani Kandu, located just 20 km east of South Miladhunmadulu Atoll, a very remote atoll in the upper north of the Maldives. Raa Atoll is almost 70km long and 30km wide, and is fringed by a chain of islands on its western side.
With over 90 islets, Raa Atoll offers numerous fast-flowing channels, an enormous amount of marine life and some of the best beaches in the Maldives. Due to the current, advanced divers will feel more comfortable than beginners, but with so many pinnacles, inland lagoons and colourful fish, it appeals to anyone, even non-divers.
