PADI Open Water Diver Course
Ready to take the next step and become a certified diver? The PADI Open Water Diver course is the first official certification that allows you to dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters with a certified buddy (instead of an instructor). If you’re looking to get certified in the Maldives on a budget, this course at Fulidhoo Dive is the perfect choice.
What’s Included in the Course?
Our course takes place in a relaxed, no-pressure environment, giving you the time you need to master your scuba skills. Unlike other centers that rush through certification in just three days, at Fulidhoo Dive, we prefer to take our time to ensure you truly enjoy and learn to dive safely.
The course takes 4-5 days and is designed to be personalized, with a maximum of 4 students per instructor. This ensures a more intimate learning experience and greater one-on-one attention. The program includes:
5 confined water sessions in the lagoon to practice essential skills.
4 open water dives to apply what you’ve learned in real diving conditions.
Scuba theory and 5 knowledge reviews.
A swim test (200m non-stop) and a survival float test.
A final multiple-choice exam.
Requirements to Sign Up
You must be able to swim 200 meters non-stop and tread water for 10 minutes without assistance.
Minimum age: 10 years (Children can complete the PADI Junior Open Water Diver course).
It’s mandatory to complete the PADI Medical Questionnaire to ensure you are fit to dive.
Before You Arrive
You can opt to complete the theory online via PADI E-learning before you arrive, which will allow you to read through the 5 chapters and complete the knowledge reviews, quizzes, and final exam at your own pace. This option is ideal if you have time before your trip. Alternatively, we also provide traditional textbooks for those who prefer to learn offline.
