Who we are
Rudy Ring discovered the diving area of South Halmahera in collaboration with the local government in 2009 and explored it with his dive boat from 2009 until 2016. Together with his guests, he has named the dive spots and developed them for dive tourism.
PROCO ISLAND BAMBU RESORT is a new dive resort that opened this March 2023, which Rudy built together with some friends in the paradise bay of PROCO ISLAND Halmahera. With great detail and through many years of experience, he has now created a dive resort that leaves nothing to be desired.
Our Halmahera Dive Resort
We have a bamboo restaurant, 12 cabins and our beautiful sunset bar on a hillside in a very extravagant style, made entirely of bamboo. The island is surrounded by a coral reef and we are currently the only dive resort on the island. In addition to diving, you can enjoy nature and let yourself go. Diving in Halmahera, Indonesia is becoming the next Raja Ampat.
The accommodation
They are all 12 bamboo cottages surrounded by tropical palm trees and exotic flowers, cosy and colourful! From them you can enjoy a beautiful sunrise every morning.
Diving
Halmahera is a remote group of islands located between the fantastic diving destinations of Raja Ampat and Lembeh. Halmahera is right in the middle of the coral triangle.

Non-divers can snorkel on our reef.
We have the best reef site for snorkelling.
Snorkeler is able to join our dive boat and do snorkling
Non-divers are able to do day trips to visit villages - upon request

Our activities do not include diving equipment or material, but we have it available for rent.

The sea.
1. Never hold your breath
Breathe deeply and slowly underwater. In addition to avoiding lung overexpansion issues, you will save air during your dive.
2. Always dive with a buddy
Always dive with a partner and make sure you stay close at all times.
3. Respect your limits
Always dive within the limits of your training. Train yourself before taking on new challenges.
4. Buoyancy
By maintaining good buoyancy control, you will increase your level of control, which will undoubtedly contribute to safer diving.
5. Pre-dive check
Before diving, check with your buddy: BCD, weights, straps, air, and final OK. This way, you can be sure you are ready to enter the water.
6. Keep learning
The more you practice your diving skills, the safer you will feel underwater. In courses like Rescue Diver, you can also learn rescue maneuvers to increase group safety.
