Cenote Angelita

Cenote Angelita, located about 17 km south of Tulum, is a site recently discovered by Russian photographer Anatoly Beloshchin, who has captured spectacular images of halocline that are beginning to travel around the world. It is interesting to note that beneath the halocline cloud formed by sulphur compounds, light no longer penetrates, and all we can see is thanks to our diving lamp.

Cenote Carwash

Cenote Carwash is a large open-air cenote with a fascinating underwater world of rock formations, wildlife and vegetation, and even home to a crocodile! The crystal clear water of this cenote in Tulum makes it a popular spot for swimming and snorkelling, and its deep cave attracts divers eager to explore the life beneath the cenote's surface.

Officially called Cenote Aktun Ha, Cenote Carwash owes its nickname to its unusual past. The cenote has a large outdoor pool just a few metres from the main road between Tulum and Coba. It is said that the cenote was used by passing motorists as a convenient car wash and became known as Cenote Carwash.
