Tajma Ha Cenote

Is it Taj Mahal Cenote or Tajma Ha? In fact, it's both. Among local cave divers, this wonderful cenote was originally nicknamed "The Taj Mahal". The name stuck until one day, an ingenious soul realised that "ha" in Mayan means "water", so it was through this clever play on words that Tajma Ha got its name. There is a reason why the cenote was given this name:

Quite simply, it is one of the most impressive cenotes you can dive in and around Puerto Aventuras. If you go at the perfect time of year, the light display is incredible. But at any other time, the limestone rock formations, maze of tunnels and huge chambers of this series of connected caves are a wonderful sight, even if you're an experienced cave diver.
