Dive for 4 days in the calm waters of Mahahual, Uvero and Chinchorro

Thought of avid divers who want the complete 4-day experience with everything we have to offer, who are looking for more experience and to discover unique places, Day One Mahahual prepares you for your dives in Uvero, Xahuayxol and Chinchorro on days 2, 3 and 4 respectively in a special way since We have the responsibility to take care of the protected natural areas of Chinchorro, Uvero and Xahuayxol and to do our best so that your dives are of the best possible level. Therefore, diving the day before off the coast of Mahahual in order to fine-tune any detail in your diving skills and familiarize yourself with the equipment that you will use the day after on your other days of diving and try to improve your dive skills as much as you can in two dives the quality of your experience, as well as that of the whole group.

On day 2 we will visit Uvero, this is located on the southern edge of the Sian ka'an reserve, world famous for being a protected natural area for more than 20 years, which makes it a magical place with an immaculate ecosystem. just an hour and a half away by boat from the coast of Mahahual Costa Maya heading north.

its capricious coral formations with caves, mountains, arches and passages make it another level of diving in the sea, located more than 30 km from the town of Mahahual and with no other towns nearby, its level of conservation and coral coverage are totally world quality level.

On day 3 we will visit Xahuayxol, located on the northern edge of the Xkalak reserve, just an hour and a half by boat from Mahahual, considered for years to be one of the areas with the best coral preservation, with deep gorgonian gardens accompanied by of huge orange elephant sponges and small coral gardens in the shallowest dive.

To finish and the cherry on the cake is Chinchorro. Is an atoll and protected nature reserve located 22 miles from Mahahual, it is the largest atoll in the northern hemisphere and the second largest in the world. Its Geographic Location, the sustainable management plan of the government agencies involved and the fact that it does not have towns or settlements makes it one of the best preserved diving sites in Mexico and the world.

Famous for the excellent health of its corals, abundant marine life, pelagics, tropical fish, coral formations, and unusual coral cover.

Day 1

Mahahual Costa.

There are endless possibilities for your first day of diving to practice your trim, buoyancy, kicking technique and familiarize yourself with your equipment this day before dinghy with an excellent level of quality diving in Costa Maya / Mahahual. Your Divemaster will select the best available options of the day together with you and your preferences.

Day 2

El Placer.

Large mountains of coral generally with a northward current with a cover of vertebrate and invertebrate corals of another level with a healthy relationship of algae, corals, reef and different species of tropical fish.

Cavernas

Coral wall from 12 to 20 meters deep with a vertical drop of 8 meters where there are spectacular formations of small caverns, passages, ceilings, arches and straits like nowhere else in Mahahual Diving.

Day 3

Alcantarilla (Xahuayxol)

Large mountains of coral between 12 and 40 meters deep lined with vertebrate and invertebrate corals that make diving in Xkalak and the Xahuayxol area distinctive and unique.

Casa blanca (Xahuayxol)

Day 4

Chinchorro coral negro and jardines

A small coral wall with a 15-meter platform and a vertical drop from 12 meters on average at its lowest point to 40 meters at its deepest, intersected by sandy areas with independent coral sections, as well as a gradual slope at its deepest part. Gatas, Coral Negro

Recommendations

• Over 14 years of age

• Do not suffer from seasickness in boats

• Enjoy swimming near or in the presence of sharks

• It is recommended to come in a group (minimum 6), so as not to have limitations, but if this is not the case, we will do our best to put together a group, if not, the program changes to dives off the coast of Mahahual where we have no minimum number of participants.

Restrictions

• A minimum group size of 6 divers for chinchorro and 4 for Uvero and xahuayxol

• Swell less than 1.4 meters to be able to cross safely

• If during your shore dives you do not demonstrate a minimum acceptable level of experience and skill (minimum bottom time of 45 minutes and adequate buoyancy control) you may be asked to hire a private guide

• All divers must have current certification. And one year since your last dive
