If you've already completed the Open Water Diver course and are ready to explore new depths, the Advanced Open Water Diver course is the ideal next step in your diving adventure. Known for offering an exciting variety of specialties, this course allows you to expand your knowledge and improve your skills through dives that will challenge and renew your passion for diving.

What does the Advanced Open Water Diver Course include?

The course is organised into 2 compulsory specialties and 3 elective specialties, each with a theory component and a practical component. This structure gives you the flexibility to customise your training according to your interests and the environment in which you dive.

Compulsory Specialties:

• Deep Dive: Venture into the depths of the ocean with a dive that will take you to 30 metres (21 metres for 12-14 year old divers). Here, you'll develop key techniques for managing pressure and other critical aspects of deep diving.

• Underwater Navigation: Hone your underwater orienteering skills using a compass, improving course plotting and advanced buoyancy control.

Adventure Dives of your choice:

Choose up to 3 additional specialties based on the options offered by your dive centre. Some of the most popular options include:

• Night Diving

• Nitrox Diving

• Buoyancy Control

• Search and Recovery

• Underwater Photography

• Dry Suit Diving

• Drift Diving

• Underwater Propulsion Vehicle (DPV)

• Use of Surface Marker Buoy

Entry Requirements

• Previous certification: Open Water Diver

• Minimum age: 12 years old

Internship Details

• Compulsory dives: You will do 2 open water dives, covering the specialties of Deep Diving and Underwater Navigation.

• Additional dives: Choose 3 additional adventure dives from those offered by your dive centre.

• Maximum depth: Up to 30 metres (21 metres for divers aged 12-14 years).
