Discover the interior of the ZAPOTE and MARAVILLA cenotes

The ZAPOTE and MARAVILLA Cenotes are located on the "Cenote Route," the old road from Puerto Morelos to Valladolid, and must be one of the most unusual dive sites in the world.

Suitable ONLY for EXPERIENCED DIVERS, the tour offers 2 dives.

The first dive in the ZAPOTE CENOTE is a deep dive that will show you landscapes and structures that are out of the ordinary.

From the surface, this attractive crystal-clear water sinkhole surrounded by lush plants reveals nothing of the astonishing formations called Hell’s Bells found within.

The underwater cavern of Cenote Zapote is much larger than you might believe from the surface. The entrance narrows to 21 meters before opening up into a spectacular chamber that undermines the rock. Incredible stalactite decorations up to two meters long, conical, open, hollow, and with round, elliptical, or horseshoe-shaped cross-sections. Unique underwater structures that scientists are still studying.

The second dive will be in the MARAVILLA CENOTE: it is an almost classic example of the cenotes you'll find in the Yucatán Peninsula.

Known for its bell-shaped stalactite rock formations, one of the most impressive light shows offered by the light filtering through the crystal-clear water, and the thickness of the hydrogen sulfide cloud layer.
