Discover Scuba Diving - Playa del Carmen

Have you ever wondered what it's like to breathe underwater? If you want to find out, before you dive for certification, the Discover Scuba Diving programme will allow you to dive among the fish and discover the benefits of scuba diving.

Although not a certification, the Discover Scuba Diving course will teach you how to use scuba equipment in shallow water and give you access to a quick, easy and safe introduction.

The fun part...

There's nothing like breathing underwater for the first time and admiring the fish and the silent world. It takes a bit of getting used to, after all, humans were not designed for it, but after a few minutes, most participants realise that diving is really accessible to everyone. The biggest challenge for instructors is not getting people into the water, but getting them out after the dives.

The most fun part ?the whole programme!

You will learn the basics you need to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI professional. You will learn how to breathe and move safely underwater.

Prerequisites :

• Be at least 10 years old.

• Complete our PADI Medical Questionnaire. This form allows you to check if you need to be examined by your doctor before participating in recreational dive training. If any of the items on the Medical Questionnaire apply to you, you should consult a doctor before participating in the dive.

Schedule and Programme :

This course is divided into 3 parts. To start, we will meet at 9:30 at our dive centre.

• Briefing: Meeting at 9:30 am: Your instructor, a PADI professional, will welcome you and accompany you in the preparation of your dive equipment. He will explain the safety instructions and all the stages of your dive.

• Pool: 11:00am: Your PADI Professional Instructor will demonstrate the basic skills required for pool diving, in a calm environment where you will be able to replicate them safely. Under the ever watchful eye of your instructor, you will learn about your new environment. The pool session will prepare you for the ocean dives.

• Dives in the sea: from 12:00 hours: When you feel comfortable with these skills, you will be ready for the divesin the sea. We will do two dives exploring the fascinating marine life and vibrant shallow reefs along the coast of Playa del Carmen. Each dive will last approximately 45 minutes, depending on your comfort level. You will be surprised how quickly you will find a comfortable respite to enjoy the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean Sea.

We will return to the dive centre around 16:30.

Equipment and materials:

All the equipment you will need is included in the Discover Scuba Diving programme. You will use all the basic scuba diving equipment, which includes a mask, snorkel, fins, a BCD that also holds your scuba tank, a regulator for breathing, a pressure gauge for air supply, a wetsuit and a weight belt.
