The Rescue Diver course is a crucial step for any diver wishing to take their skills to the next level. The course is structured into three main components: theory, the Emergency First Response (EFR) course, and rescue practice.

Emergency First Response (EFR) Course

The EFR course is a one-day intensive training course designed to provide you with key skills in first aid and CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation). These skills are fundamental to responding effectively in emergencies.

10 Rescue Exercises

During the practical phase, you will perform 10 rescue exercises covering a variety of emergency scenarios, including:

• Assisting a tired diver

• Handling a panicked diver

• Responding from shore, boat or dock (conscious diver)

• Assisting a diver with underwater problems

• Searching for a missing diver

• Lifting an unconscious diver to the surface

• Handling an unconscious diver at the surface

• Exiting the water with an unconscious diver

• Pressure-related first aid and oxygen administration

• Response from shore, boat or dock (unconscious diver)

2 Rescue Drills

To consolidate your skills, you will participate in two rescue drills which include:

• Rescue of an unconscious diver underwater

• Rescue of an unconscious diver on the surface

Course Requirements

• Previous experience: Adventure Diver Certification (including at least 2 Advanced Open Water Adventure Dives)

• Minimum age: 12 years old

• Dive Theory: Includes study materials and a theory exam.

• Practical: You will complete the 10 rescue exercises and 2 open water drills.
