Experience Required:
40 logged dives at the start of the course and 60 dives at the time of certification.
Rescue Diver certification.
EFR (Emergency First Response) course completed within the last 24 months.
Current medical certificate less than two years old.
What does the Divemaster Course consist of?
The Divemaster course combines solid theoretical training with intensive practical training designed to develop your dive leadership and supervisory skills. Throughout this course, you will not only reinforce your theoretical foundation, but you will also be trained to assist instructors in training new divers and supervise dive activities safely and effectively.
Course Contents:
The course includes 9 knowledge development sessions that you can complete in any order you prefer, except for the first session, Divemaster Roles and Characteristics, which must be completed face-to-face prior to any in-water practice.
The sessions cover the following topics:
Supervision of diving activities
Assisting student divers
Diver safety and risk management
PADI Divemaster-led programmes
Specialty activities
The Business of Diving and Career Planning
Dive Environment Awareness and Protection
Dive theory: physics, physiology, general techniques, equipment, decompression theory and use of tables
After completing the theory, you'll move on to practical in-water exercises, endurance drills and simulations of real situations. This training will prepare you to lead and manage diving activities with skill and professionalism, ensuring you can handle any underwater challenge.
