To enrol in a PADI Open Water Diver (or Junior Open Water Diver) course, you must be 10 years of age or older. You need to have proper swimming skills and be in good physical health. No previous diving experience is necessary.
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
Knowledge Development (online, independent study or classroom) to understand the basic fundamentals of scuba diving.
Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills.
Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore!
NOTE: After finishing your last open water dive, you must wait at least 18 hours of surface interval before taking a flight or ascending to more than 300 metres above sea level.
