Protectorate Diving Safari - 8 Days

Our Protectorate Dive Safari is a program designed for divers who want to experience something different. It is a combination of adventure, relaxation, diving, camel safari, learning about Bedouin culture, and a unique experience of the flora and fauna of the Sinai Desert.

Loading your diving equipment onto a camel and riding through the desert to reach your diving destination is definitely a story you'll tell your grandchildren. The evenings provide the opportunity to relax and are probably the most amazing part of this desert adventure. Sunsets over the Sinai Mountains, sitting around the campfire, and sleeping under the stars with breathtaking displays of planets, constellations, and shooting stars will undoubtedly be a soul-recharging experience.

For some people, this safari will bring to life all those fantasies of Lawrence of Arabia, desert nights spent under a blanket of stars. A camel safari is the ideal way to experience little-dived sites and live a small part of the Bedouin nomadic life. And still, you will be able to dive in Dahab’s most famous sites from the very first day.

The safari is not too long, giving you the opportunity to relax at the Daniela Hotel before and after the safari.

THE PROGRAM INCLUDES:

MEAL PLAN:

  • 3 days full board.

  • Days 04 and 05, during the safari, full board with dinners on day 05 at Daniela.

Day 2: Jeep Diving in Dahab – 2 dives – Half board. After breakfast, a full day of diving with 2 guided dives in the Dahab area by jeep or pickup truck. You can choose between many famous dive sites such as the Canyon, the Blue Hole, the Islands, the Three Pools, Eel Gardens, and more. Dinner and overnight at Daniela.

Day 3: Gabr El Bint Boat SafariNabq Protectorate Area – 2 dives – Lunch – Half board. After breakfast, travel south to take the boat (or meet the camels and have a brief introduction to camel riding). A full day boat dive safari to Gabr El Bint (2 dives). Lunch will be served onboard. Gabr El Bint is located about 7.5 km south of Dahab and can only be reached by foot, camel, or boat. The name Gabr El Bint means "The Tomb of the Girl". There are many stories about the place, but it is believed that a Bedouin girl became ill centuries ago while traveling and was buried in this beautiful spot at the foot of the mountains. Return to the hotel and overnight at Daniela Village.

Day 4: Ras Saleh - Galloum Protectorate – 3 dives – Full board. The journey to Ras Abu Galloum begins early to take advantage of the cool morning air on the way to the first dive site. After breakfast, depart for the Blue Hole, where you will meet the camels. After a brief introduction to camel riding and gear, food and water are loaded onto the camels. The trek, either on foot or by camel, towards Ras Abu Galloum begins. The next three days will be spent diving in the pristine, beautiful reefs of Ras Abu Galloum, guided by an experienced dive master. During the desert days, all meals will be prepared by the Bedouins and served in a traditional way, eating together and helping yourselves. The evenings provide the opportunity to relax and are probably the most amazing part of this adventure. Sunsets over the Sinai Mountains, sitting around the campfire, and sleeping under the stars with breathtaking displays of planets, constellations, and shooting stars will undoubtedly recharge your soul. On the first day of the camel safari, we will enjoy 2 dives in the Ras Saleh area and finish with a night dive. We will be hosted by a small Bedouin tribe, who will prepare lunch and dinner, and we will sleep under the stars.

Day 5: Ras Abu Galloum - Galloum Protectorate – 2 dives – Full board. After breakfast, we head to the lagoon of Ras Abu Galloum, on the north side of our Bedouin camp. Here, the mountains meet the sea in the most dramatic way, with canyons starting at the surface and continuing underwater. We will do 2 dives to discover the beauty of the lagoon. We then return to our Bedouin camp for lunch and relax before taking the camels back to Dahab. Dinner and overnight at Daniela Village Dahab.

Day 6: Jeep Diving in Dahab – 2 dives – Half board.

Whether it's just relaxing in one of Dahab's many Bedouin-style restaurants, shopping in the bazaar, walking along the beach, taking a quad ride, or snorkeling. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
