Dive into the Wreck of the Salem Express - Sahl Hasheesh

Discover the mystery of the Salem Express, a historic shipwreck submerged in the waters of the Red Sea.

The Salem Express is a fascinating wreck, known for its tragic history. This 110-meter-long ship, built in 1966, changed names several times before becoming the Salem Express in 1988, after being acquired by the Samatour Shipping Company. On the night of December 14, 1991, during a storm, the ship ran aground on the Shaab Sheer reef near Safaga, flooded quickly, and sank in a matter of minutes. The reasons behind the captain's deviation remain uncertain, adding an aura of mystery to this location.

The Program:

• Early Start: At 7:00 AM, we begin the transfer to Safaga, about an hour away.

• Two Dives: If conditions allow, we will conduct two dives. The first dive will explore the Salem Express from the outside, and the second dive will take us inside the wreck. If weather conditions prevent two dives, the second dive will take place at the nearby Shaab Sheer reef.

• Return at 5:00 PM: After the day’s activities, we will return to the hotel or base.

Important Information:

• Minimum Participants: The activity will only take place if there are at least 4 participants. Implementation is not guaranteed if this minimum number is not reached.
