Dive into history and explore one of the most famous shipwrecks in the Red Sea. The Salem Express, a ship that tragically sank in 1991, still lies at the bottom of the sea near the coast of Safaga. This is a unique opportunity for adventurous divers who want to explore the impressive structure of the wreck and the surrounding marine life.

About the Salem Express:

The Salem Express was built in 1966 in France, with a length of 110 meters and a width of 18 meters. Over the years, the ship changed ownership and name several times until it was finally named Salem Express in May 1988. However, tragedy struck on the night of December 14, 1991, when, in the midst of a storm, the ship deviated from its safe route and ran aground on the Shaab Sheer reef, causing a water leak and sinking within minutes. The exact cause of the captain's deviation remains unknown. Today, the wreck has become a popular site for divers seeking a unique experience.

Dive Program:

• Departure: 7:00 a.m. from the hotel with a transfer to Safaga (approximately 1-hour drive).

• Dive 1: Exploration of the wreck from the outside.

• Dive 2: Dive inside the wreck, if conditions allow. If weather conditions prevent the second dive in the wreck, we will move to a nearby reef, Shaab Sheer, to do the second dive there.

• Return: Around 5:00 p.m. to the hotel or base.

• Weather conditions: The activity depends on weather conditions and sea visibility.
