Characteristics of the Dive in Punta Tiñosa

Visibility and Conditions:

• The waters off Punta Tiñosa usually have excellent visibility, which can be in excess of 20 metres.

• The water temperature varies between 18°C in winter and 24°C in summer, making for pleasant diving all year round.

Marine Life:

• The area is rich in marine life, with species such as angel sharks, rays, moray eels, octopus, seahorses and a variety of reef fish.

• It is also possible to encounter sea turtles and, on some occasions, larger fish such as groupers and barracudas.

Dive Sites:

• Cueva de las Gambas: An underwater cave known for the large number of shrimps that live inside. Here it is common to see moray eels and rays.

• El Veril de Puerto del Carmen: A reef that drops to a depth of more than 40 metres, offering an exciting dive for advanced divers.

• La Catedral: One of the most famous dive sites in the area, known for its impressive cavern that reaches up to 30 metres deep. It is a spectacular site for its play of light and the possibility of seeing large schools of fish.

Access and Logistics:

• From boat departing from the mueliito in Puerto del Carmen.

• Dive centres in the area usually follow strict safety and marine conservation standards, ensuring that dives are conducted in a responsible and sustainable manner.
